1-1 Life Skills/Homeschool Coach (special needs specialist)

Find Your Sunshine, LLC

Start Date: Available Immediately

$18-$26/hour based on experience

8-18 hours per week depending on availability, possibility for increased hours in other roles if wanted

Position Overview: Provide support in carrying out FYS developed curriculum- including gross motor activities, fine motor exercises, life skills, academics, daily exercise, and other development activities. Role also includes supporting student in outside recreational classes like art, cooking, volunteering, exercising, sewing, and others. Role may sometimes include some development, planning, or preparing of program activities. Must be comfortable and qualified to transport student to and from classes and activities(reimbursed for milage). Programs are carried out in clients’ home, local parks, the community and the Find Your Sunshine recreation center.

Additional hours are available to coach programs including Development Classes; Open Gyms; Strength, Coordination, and Sports; Cooking; Life Skills; Job Training; Gross and Fine Motor; Home School Curriculum; Social Skills or other related areas. 

Job Description

  • Implement and follow the individualized curriculum and daily schedules.

  • Provide one-on-one support to children with special needs/developmental disabilities during program activities. Support child in re-directing challenging behaviors, positive behavior reinforcement, facilitate positive social skills with peers, etc.

  • Prepare supplies for program activities and home school curriculum by completing printing documents, gathering supplies, completing progress documentation.

  • Implement and follow the recommended inclusion plan to assist child in meeting established goals.

  • Collect and record clients progress towards goals, clients attendance, behavior observations, etc., on a daily basis.

  • Recommend changes to the Inclusion Plan and clients goals if needed.

  • Daily communication with clients supervisor on clients daily accomplishments and activities.

  • Follow and enforce safety standards and other policies and procedures.

  • Complete clerical and media task as needed.

  • Provide direct support to supervisor as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Experience or Education with child education/development

  • Experience or Education with inclusion concepts.

  • Strong moral and ethical values

  • Access to a safe personal vehicle and willing to transport student

  • Experience working with special needs/developmentally disabled population preferred

  • Experience in MS Word and Excel.

  • Completion of (or to be completed in the next 12 months) bachelors degree in a related field: Child Development, Psychology, Human Services, Social Work, Sociology, Kinesiology, Education, Special Education, Occupational Therapy, or Behavioral Science.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

  • Ability to communicate effectively

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong independent working skills

Lead Development Class Teacher

$18-$28/hour depending on experience

5-20 Hours per week based on availability (Must be available on Fridays)

Position Overview: Lead teach development classes for students ranging in ages from 18 months - 4 years in the areas of gross motor, fine motor, social-emotional, early learning, neurodevelopment, creativity, and corporative play. Provide support in development, planning, preparing, and carrying out development classes, recreation classes, open gyms, and special events. Programs include activities for a variety of ages and may also serve people with special needs. Role also includes planning and preparing lessons and materials for these classes.

If you have a recreational specialty (art, music, gymnastics, Spanish, French, parkour, etc.) there is a possibility for additional hours/classes.

Job Description

  • Complete daily cleaning tasks

  • Daily communication with support staff..

  • Follow and enforce safety standards and other policies and procedures.

  • Complete clerical and media task as needed.

  • Provide direct support to supervisor as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Experience or Education with child education/development

  • Experience or Education with inclusion concepts.

  • Willingness to comply with a background check

  • Experience in working with kids with special needs (preferred)

  • Strong moral and ethical values

  • Experience in MS Word and Excel.

  • Completion of (18) units of college coursework in one or more of the following areas: Child Development, Psychology, Human Services, Social Work, Sociology, Kinesiology, Education, or Behavioral Science. (preferred)

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

  • Ability to communicate effectively

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong independent working skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)

Lead Speciality Class Teacher

(Yoga, Art, Spanish, French, Gymnastics, Karate, Music, etc.)

Position Overview: We are looking to partner with specialty teachers to offer these type of classes to a variety of ages with in our center. Our ideal targets ages are Toddlers (mommy and me), Homeschool students, and after school options for a variety of ages.

Schedule and hours are flexible and we hope to collaborate to find a time that works for us and you as a teacher.

Job Description
