OUR COMMUNITY

A value we find very important at Find Your Sunshine is a great sense of Community. The idea of community may mean something different to each one of us, but our vision is that we help every person who walks through our door feel connected and proud of their community. We accomplish this by helping connect people to their community in different ways. We are always looking for other local business or organizations to partner with to continue to enrich our community and build community bonds.

COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

Friends of the Children - Austin

Friends of the Children Austin exists to break the cycle of generational poverty. Friends Austin pairs professional, salaried, full-time, bilingual mentors (“Friends”) with children who are facing the greatest challenges and at risk of continuing harmful cycles. They commit to those children from pre-K/kindergarten through high school graduation – for 12+ years, no matter what. Friends Austin is currently serving 103 children, ranging in age from pre-K to third grade. Friends Austin is grateful to benefit from a partnership with Find Your Sunshine, which will provide interactive and enriching summer camp opportunities at no cost for the children in their program. The youth served by Friends Austin are experiencing a variety of challenges and summer can be a particularly vulnerable season, so Friends work hard to identify impactful and fun summer activities for the kids. One of the core assets of the Friends Austin model is “Find Your Spark,” and the chance for the children in their program to participate in Find Your Sunshine camps will create special opportunities for their youth to find their spark and grow.
